Picture Hanging
Hanging a picture is one of easiest and inexpensive ways to really brighten up a room. Although it is one of the easier jobs to complete, I do understand that not everyone is equipped to get the job done, don’t worry give me a call at Handyman Kitchener 226-243-6859.
Before we get into how to hang the picture, you first need to decide where you want to hang it! Cut out a piece of paper the size of the picture and use painters’ tape to test around the room.
There are many ways to hang a picture: Plated Nail Hangers, Specialty Hooks, Picture Wire, Sawtooth Bars, and Removable Pads.
Plated Nail Hangers: You don’t need to locate a stud for smaller artwork, the nail hangers will support them fine. Measure from the top of the frame to the hardware on the back of the frame, then take the measurement to the wall and use the center mark on the wall as a reference. Then hammer in the nails for the picture.
Specialty Hooks: Bigger and heavier pieces will need more support but this option doesn’t require any tools or studs. All that needs to be done is to push the hook through the drywall and it will curve up against the wall and create support.

For the back of the artwork, you can use wire, sawtooth bars or removable pads.
Removable Pads: This option requires no nails or screws. You simply put the pads on the frame on the back of the picture and on the wall where the picture is going to be hung. Make sure to clean the wall from any dirt or dust so that the strips stick and there you have it!
